I've made a ton of changes around here and there are still more to come. I've changed the layout at wildflowersandweeds.net as well as added the pictures from two weddings I recently shot. I have another set of wedding pictures plus the newlywed shoot with that couple coming too, probably within the next week. I am also working on installing greymatter on weatheredhalo.net for this blog to run from as we speak. So that will be new soon, too as well as a new layout coming down the pipes for this blog.
So major changes coming, look out!! :)

So this has gone from bad to worse. I've sent out a few e-mails and am going to have some blogging tools installed here to make my life easier. I also need to revamp the HTML on my sites because they are SOOO old and also rework my gallery. So expect some major changes around here. Sit tight, all. Big changes are coming and it's gonna be good. Pics from the weddings I shot two weeks ago coming soon. :) I promise. I mean it, no crossies. :P

So...attempt one at NOT being a horrible blogger. I'm working on it, so bare with me. I might change programs to make it easier. I'm not sure.
Anyways, so yesterday and today combined I spent like six to eight hours post processing and editing the pictures from the shoot with Vanessa and the shoot with Sam, plus going through the extra pictures I took at an abandoned house in the town I live in. Whoa man. SO much editing and uploading and cropping and processing and HTML and blah blah blah. So that took a while. But I am super glad I'm done and everything is uploaded, functioning and ready to be viewed. You can see the pictures from the shoots with Vanessa and Sam at my main website which is my portfolio, or you can also see them on my flickr.com photostream if you prefer. I also spent some time uploading some/all of those new pictures to my modelmayhem.com account as well as my tumblr.com account and my facebook.com fan page. WHEW. I know, right? Trust me, there was a lot of Red Bull and other caffiene involved. But I love it.
I spent most of the evening and night today relaxing. I have such a wicked headache. I went hiking in the woods with my friend Jess and I think just the bright, hot sun plus being hungry and everything just got to me. I got home and layed down for a while and feel a little better now, but my head still hurts. I don't know...either way it's been kinda nice to just relax, catch up on things online, hang around and play with my two cats. So for those reasons, this is going to be a short blog. Tomorrow I am going to try (try!) to write another one about a picture I like...sort of how I did a few blog posts back. I want to try and do that more often. So I am going to go lay down and possibly take another dose of asprin for my headache.
Goodnight, everyone.
OH and PS - The park Jess and I hiked in just screams to be photographed. So expect to see some pictures or shoots from there in the future.

Okay, so I admit it. I am a HORRIBLE blogger. I need to figure out a better system here, because as we can clearly see, I have blogging commitment issues. That's right. Issues. So maybe I need a new program to do this...or a better routine with blogging...or just more Red Bull. *shrugs*
I did a shoot today with Vanessa, and when I get those pics developed (they're 35mm) I will upload them along with the Priority Number One pics and start blogging more. For goodness sake, this is silly. It's about time I got this blog rolling again.
Psstt..You can see a sneak peak of the Priority Number One pictures here if you want, by the way. Just sayin'. :P
Goodnight, every one.

Ugh. Why am I still awake? Who knows?
As I type this, I am using my new lap desk thingie that my boyfriend bought me. Isnt he sweet? It's a little cushioned laptop lap desk thing. It's even got room for a mouse. So this is pretty neat. I am liking it so far, I think. We also went out to the movies. We saw An Education. I really, really liked that movie. It was really well done and was something that made you think. It wasnt like the normal Hollywood movies that come out where everything is spelled out and the same jokes are re-done twenty times. It was interesting, sad at times, funny at times and entirely complete. I went into the movie knowing nothing about it. Literally...nothing. I had no idea what it was about, who was in it, even the smallest idea of the plotline, and you know what? It was sort of fun doing it that way, where I went in blind. I really enjoyed that movie a lot and would tell others to see it, for sure.
So Saturday, Emily and I are squared up to do a shoot. I just have to get my thoughts together now and decide how I want the shoot to go. I've worked with her twice before, and each time ended with pleasing results. So now I've just got to figure out the theme/idea behind this one and we'll be ready to fire away. I am really excited.
In terms of using up the entire roll of 35mm film that I had, I accomplished it. While doing some running around with my boyfriend earlier today I pulled into the parking lot of an abandoned church. I've driven by it with him dozens of times but never stopped. This time I jumped out and we circled around it a few times, taking pictures. So that roll is done. I might drop them off tomorrow to be developed and then I can process them and get some new work up onto my flickr photo stream. I will also post them here.
Another thing I want to start doing more often is viewing other photographer's works and writing a little bit about them. Today's photo is one from a flickr.com member. The piece that I decided to use today can be viewed here.
There are quite a few things about this photo that I really like. I really like the tones and colors. I love the model's red hair and the way its pinned up. It is almost very formal looking compared to whats going on in the shot, which is not formal at all. I like the lines in the picture as well...the lines of the stalks of the plants, the lines of the black paint on the model's back, the lines of the shadows. This is a very well composed picture and I really like it.
One thing that I, myself might have tried would be to take the shot with the model all of the way over to the left of the frame, with the rest of it filled with the stalks. I think that might have added a different dimension and feel to it, but who knows? The fact that the model is in the center does have its benefits, for sure. We get to see all of the nice shadows around her.
Overall, I think one of the main things that really draws me into this photo is the composition and the tones. I love the muted reds, browns, blacks and tans. Lovely colors. The picture is very original and a favorite of mine.
Well, I should try and get some sleep before class tomorrow morning. *eye roll* School will dull your mind. But that's a whole new rant, now isnt it?
Goodnight, all.

March 04, 2010____________
Wow am I tired. I was up until like 4am. Why, you may ask? I was launching this website, which I finished around 2:00am. And THEN I proceeded to create a facebook.com business profile for my photography. You can view it here. That took a while to upload the pictures and set up everything...it took a while to send the profile to all my friends to see and become a fan of it if they want to. *yawn* So Alyse needs some COFFEE right about now. Anyways, view the profile above and if you have a facebook account, become a fan! Why not? :) More soon. I'm thinking about running out and finishing up the roll of 35mm film thats in my SLR camera, and if I do that I'm going to get that one plus the other on thats in my bag developed and then I can process and upload some new work.
And on a sort of related thought...my 52 weeks project on flickr has pretty much bit the dust. I am thinking about giving it up. Again. And then starting again at a later date. I am just too far behind now. I've been too busy. Yeah. I think I'm going to just move them into the self portraits and remove the 52 weeks labels. *sigh* Maybe I can finally finish a 52 weeks at a later date.
Also, I am excited to get more proactive with my examiner account. For those of you who don't know, I write articles on photography for examiner.com. I just need to get more active about it. I think I am going to set myself a goal of like 2 articles a week. That sounds sufficient. Maybe more, who knows? Working on it.
I am also working on setting up a time and date to do another shoot with Emily. She has been the model for two of my previous shoots now. You can view the work here. I'll keep you all updated when that happens.
And LASTLY, my photography is going to be in the Barnes and Noble cafe in Waterbury, CT for the entire month of APRIL for those of you who are interested in coming by and seeing it! I am super excited about this. :)
Anyways, more later. Have a wonderful day everyone.

So this is the first offical post of weatheredhalo.net! I am still tweaking content here and there, but this website is offically launched!! Go me! I have a couple of rolls of film to develop from the 35mm SLR camera I have been shooting with lately, so when those are done I will post pics. For now, you can view the latest and greatest from yours truly on my flickr.com photo stream. Many more blogs to come soon, but for now I am exhausted from finally trucking through all the HTML and getting this site functioning again. More soon, I promise. Good night!
